Job Description
A client of ours in Austin is looking for a Vitria/Enterprise Messaging Support Consultant for a long term contract opportunity.
Background
The Enterprise Systems Division supports a large number of Vitria BusinessWare Interface Engine (VIE) applications.
The VIE support by the Division provides software development and system administration support for the Vitria BusinessWare 3.1.x and 4.x
servers.
Objectives
The VIE application software development includes design, implementation, and testing of
messaging solutions using Vitria
BusinessWare 3.1.x. and 4.x.
Programming support includes monitoring performance, and troubleshooting Businessware issues.
Skill Requirements:
The subcontractor skills shall specifically include:
The VIE contractor skills shall include Vitria BusinessWare Interface Engine (VIE) expertise as well as the following skills:
JAVA
Experience with enterprise business process messaging and transformation packages.
XML
Experience with
Perl, Jython, and /or Python.
ALSO: A background in enterprise messaging support/administration is acceptable if candidate does not have Vitria. Other acceptable technologies are egate, mqseries and tibco. This person would then be trained on Vitria.
The subcontractor shall perform the following types of tasks, including but not limited to:
Vitria Businessware (VIE) 3.1.x and 4.x:
a.
Coordinate all work with the customer and company’s
application programmers and database administrators assigned to support VIE
applications, databases, and hardware platforms.
b.
Design, and develop VIE applications using BusinessWare.
c.
Load VIE releases and patches upgrade versions of BusinessWare.
d.
Review VIE performance for VIE processes and provide and implement recommendations for improved performance.
Use and support system monitoring tools.
e.
Become familiar with and use Service Desk Change Orders and Service Requests to document and obtain concurrence on VIE work.
f.
Coordinate VIE work with designated personnel and for notification of error issues and problem resolutions.
g.
Resolve issues with BusinessWare servers and inform Project Manager of potential risks and application issues.
h.
Develop scripts in Perl, Jython, Python and/or ANT scripting to automate and monitor Vitria routine tasks.
